Choir for hire: Music for your special day

Music has very special powers to celebrate joyful occasions and to comfort us in sad times. Congleton Singers is a small choir formed by some members of Congleton Choral Society. We have joined together as music-lovers to offer our support with singing at church weddings and funeral services.

Prices are negotiable depending on your exact requirements. Our basic charges begin at £300 for weddings and £200 for funerals, for support in congregational hymn singing. We have a repertoire of anthems from which you can choose. We may also be able to cater for other requests, depending on access to appropriate music and timescales. We can also provide an accompanist to play keyboard or organ for your occasion.

Wedding Music

In addition to supporting the company in hymn singing, we can sing anthems as part of the service, or during the signing of the register. Our repertoire includes:

John Rutter -This is the Day - composed for the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton
Howard Goodall - Love Divine
Cesar Franck - Panis Angelicus
Andrew Lloyd Webber - Pie Jesu, from his Requiem

Some suggestions for wedding hymns:
O God of Love, to you we bow
Jerusalem
I vow to thee my country
Dear Lord and Father of mankind
Guide me O Thou great redeemer
O praise to the Lord, praise him in the height
Love divine, all love excelling
(Tune Blaenwern)
Angel voices ever singing
Lead us, Heavenly Father, lead us
(Tune Mannheim)

Funeral Music

Our repertoire of anthems includes:
WG Tomer - God be with you 'til we meet again
Franz Schubert - Ave Maria
Peter Hurford - Litany to the Holy Spirit
Howard Goodall - Psalm 23 - or traditional arrangement
God be in my head
Andrew Lloyd Webber - Pie Jesu, from his Requiem
