Congleton Choral Society owes very special thanks to Mary Murphy for her loyal support and help, given freely over three decades. Mary worked tirelessly in the background, from painting the cumbersome wooden advertising boards used to promote each concert, to sorting out the young musicians we engaged to play in our orchestras. Mary also organised weekends singing the services in cathedrals in this country and overseas. Without her, so much of what the Choral Society achieved would not have been possible.
